I don't know about you, but I hate watching things on the stove. That's what makes this recipe so easy! I love, love, love this recipe because I get to have delicious burgers without slaving over a stove and without having to scrub the pot afterwards! Hubby says even after reheating these burgers the next day, they still taste like restaurant-style!
Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
half an onion
(if desired) lettuce leaves, cheese slices
1. Roll ground beef
Preheat oven to 400. Wash your hands. Combine salt, pepper, and ground beef. Roll beef together until you've made them into balls.
The original recipe says to make them golf-ball-sized, but that was way too small for us. So I doubled that - I would suggest to make it more tennis-ball- or baseball-sized (the burgers shrink significantly in the oven). The picture below makes pretty tiny burgers. If you want them big (like as big as your hamburger bun), shoot for more baseball-sized (one package of ground beef will make about 3-4 decent-sized burgers or 5-6 small burgers).

2. Flatten
Flatten each ball until it's no more than 1/2 inch thick. I would recommend pressing with your fingers instead of mashing with your fist because it stays together that way.
3. Put in oven
Make sure to line your pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Bake burgers for 5 minutes. While they're baking, chop your onions.
Remove pan from oven. Flip burgers using tongs. Place onions on burgers and return to oven for 8 minutes (or longer if you prefer yours well done).
If you want cheese on yours, put cheese slices on the burgers about a minute before they're done so it's nice and melted. Or, if you're like me and never have sliced cheese on hand, just sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top and it melts perfectly.
4. Add condiments, and enjoy!
Add ketchup, mustard, and lettuce leaves, if desired.
